Logistics Coordinator

Job Title: Logistics Manager

Reports To: Operations Manager

Department: Operations

Direct Reports: Materials, Mold Staging and Storage Coordinator

FLSA Status: Exempt

Job Grade:

Summary:

The Logistics Manager insures the secure delivery of our products.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following and are not limited to:

· Coordinate the loading, shipping and delivery of our products to our customers, ensuring a positive experience

o Conducts final quality checks on all shipments, signs off prior to shipment.

o Take pictures of all shipments according to the written procedures.

o Responsible for the safe loading of shelters according to the written procedures.

o Responsible for small package shipments: packaging and arranging for pickup.

· Communicate with our customers regarding the status of their orders, to make sure that there are no surprises and that they are always up-to-date

· Manage the entire shipping budget process - from providing shipping quotes to sales department and negotiating rates with trucking companies

· Develop and manage relationships with trucking companies and brokers that provides the greatest chance of meeting delivery dates for costs at or below those quoted

· Manage the receiving and inventory process for incoming job and cage inventory

· Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Education/Experience:

Bachelor's degree or combination of education and work experience in a similar manufacturing position and/or discipline.

Computer Skills:

Strong computer skills including: QuickBooks, Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and ACT!

Language Ability:

Ability to read and interpret working drawings and specifications. Ability to write reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Skilled communications.

Mathematical / Analytical Ability:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Knowledge of basic electrical calculation, applicable codes and standards, rules and regulations.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to determine alternate project scopes.
